Rasul bath:
deep-cleansing skin care

The Middle Eastern ritual with natural healing clays

Looking to pamper your skin, body, and mind? A Rasul bath might be just what you need. The mud bath – “rasul” means “mud” in Arabic – has its origins in Middle Eastern and North African culture’s and has been practised for centuries to cleanse and nourish the body. Introduced to Europe in the 1990s, it has become a popular spa treatment, blending ancient wisdom with modern wellness.

What is a Rasul bath?

A Rasul bath typically takes place in a specially designed circular room with tiled benches. It uses natural healing clays such as lava clay, loam, or mineral-rich mud, packed with magnesium, calcium, iron, and silica. The mud is applied generously to the body and gently massaged into the skin. As the session begins, the room’s temperature gradually rises to around 50°C, while fine steam fills the air. This warm, humid environment opens up the pores, activating the mud’s beneficial properties and allowing the skin to absorb the nutrients more effectively. You can enhance the exfoliating effect of the mud with a light self-massage, leaving your skin feeling smoother than ever. After 20 to 30 minutes of steaming, the mud is washed away under the shower, and the session concludes with the application of a moisturising cream, leaving your skin hydrated and glowing.

What are the benefits of a Rasul bath?

A Rasul bath delivers a wide range of benefits for the skin, body, and mind. The mineral-rich mud smooths the skin, boosts circulation, and has anti-inflammatory properties. As a gentle exfoliant, it removes dead skin cells and impurities while encouraging skin regeneration, leaving your skin soft, supple, and radiant. The combination of healing muds and heat also helps the body release toxins, supporting a natural detox process. On top of that, it’s an excellent remedy for stress and tension, offering deep relaxation and recovery for the muscles and a sense of inner calm.
