The asparagus season in South Tyrol has officially begun!
Time for healthy enjoyment centred on the sexy vegetable
April and May is the asparagus season in South Tyrol!
In other words: springtime is harvest time in South Tyrol’s south, in the so-called “asparagus triangle” Terlano/Terlan, Vilpiano/Vilpian, Settequerce/Siebeneich, and Castelbello/Kastelbell. The healthy and tasty vegetable with quality label is grown in the outdoors, on a height of 600 to 1,700 metres above sea level. Thanks to the fresh mountain air and sunshine, it has a special aroma and a unique taste.
If you visit one of the best wellness resorts in Italy’s northernmost region in spring, we recommend you to fully seize this “fifth” South Tyrolean season. How? By indulging in deliciously fresh, local asparagus in all of its variations: asparagus risotto, asparagus strudel, or asparagus with Bolzano sauce. Alongside we recommend a white wine from the region, such as the Sauvignon “Spargel” (Spargel=asparagus) stocked at the Terlano winery.
Enjoy the South Tyrolean asparagus season!
