On the South Tyrolean Christmas market

At the end of November, it is again the time when the Christmas markets in South Tyrol celebrate their official opening. Discover these magical markets during your spa break.

If you have already spent your winter holidays in South Tyrol, then you might be familiar with the Christmas markets in the north Italian mountain region. Today, these magical markets can be found in each South Tyrolean town as well as in many smaller places. The original Christmas markets are those in Brunico/Bruneck, Bressanone/Brixen, Vipiteno/Sterzing, and Merano/Meran. In Advent, a visit to these colourful, brightly lit markets are nearly a must. Because here, Christmas comes alive! It is nearly impossible to return to the luxurious haven of your spa hotel in Italy empty-handed. And why should you! The stalls are bursting with skilfully crafted objects from South Tyrol and partly also other countries: Christmas decorations, clothes, organic beauty products, jewellery and much more. Also an empty stomach is a rarity on such market. Because here you have the chance to sample freshly baked delicacies from the region … So, off you go to the Christmas market!
