They can be found all over the world: earth pyramids. Visit the most beautifully shaped of their kind in all of Europe. Where? Well, in South Tyrol.

Scattered throughout South Tyrol, there is a very unusual natural phenomenon to marvel at: earth pyramids. They can be found in other places of Europe too, in Melnik in Bulgaria, for example. However, the most beautifully shaped in all of Europe are located in South Tyrol – or, to be precise, in Ritten: at Finsterbachgraben on the way from Lengmoos to Maria Saal, at Katzenbachgraben below Oberbozen, and at Gasterergraben in Unterinn. It is not possible to determine exactly how old the pyramids are, but the material from which they were formed is around 25 000 years old. You can marvel at the natural phenomenon on a beautiful, family-friendly hike. Or on an excursion with llamas and alpacas while on wellness holiday in Italy.
