Downhill mountain bike: holidays for adrenalin-junkies
Fast – thrilling – cool
Get your downhill mountain bike ready … for a thrilling holiday in South Tyrol! Downhill mountain biking is becoming increasingly popular, and South Tyrol – with its wealth of exciting mountain trails – is a perfect destination to spend a holiday of adrenalin-packed, full-throttle downhill descents. In most cases, lift facilities transport cyclists and their mountain bikes uphill to the starting point. The most courageous will bolt through intricate woodland, challenging sloping terrains sprinkled with obstacles such as trees, roots and stones. We recommend taking the greatest of care on these trails, where quick response skills are of the essence. This sport requires not only strength, endurance and coordination, but also suitable protective gear: Helmet, goggles, headrest, upper body protections, gloves, and elbow- and knee pads should be worn at all times!
If you choose to spend your downhill- mountain bike holiday at the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, you will have the chance to visit the first official freeride-trail in South Tyrol: the Herrensteig, a 8 km long trail featuring sharp turns, wooden bridges, thrilling forest segments and more.
